The camp is part of the Margarita Kite School ecosystem — guests walk or cycle 10 minutes to the kite center every morning, where the whole community gathers when the wind picks up. On rest days, explore things to do in Kalpitiya — yoga, dolphin watching, deserted islands and more.

Location — Setthawadiya, Kalpitiya
The camp sits in the Setthawadiya neighbourhood, between Kalpitiya town and the main kite spot. Close enough to everything, quiet enough to feel like you've escaped.

5 min by bike to Kite Center — bikes available at the camp. 10 min on foot. The whole community gathers at the kite school on the lagoon when the wind picks up.

5 min to Kalpitiya beach — by bike or tuk-tuk. Fish markets, Dutch fort and the historical church within easy reach.

3 hours from Colombo — bus to Puttalam, then 40 min tuk-tuk. We can help arrange transfers if needed.
Ducks, a Dog and a Visiting Donkey
Margarita Village has a crazy duck family, a very friendly disabled rescue dog and a donkey that visits from time to time and transfers the most incredible good vibes to everyone who encounters him.
We love them so much and we hope you will too. Pets are not just tolerated here — they are part of the family. Bring yours.

Kite Lessons at the Lagoon
The village is the base. The Margarita Kite School is where the action happens — 10 minutes away on Kalpitiya lagoon. IKO certified, radio helmet coaching, rescue boat and the flattest water in Asia.
Free riders can jump on the boat to cross to the other side of the lagoon. Beginners head out with the instructor and rescue boat. Advanced riders join the daily kite trips to Vella Island, Dream Spot and beyond.
