Are you ready to master your kite skills in some of the most authentic and sublime kite spots in the world? Well, in Sri Lanka we have good and constant wind conditions combined with perfect flat-water spots to make sure you can progress and have lots of fun. You are going to love it!
* Our only requirement is that you know how to ride upwind and to have a medium kitesurfing level.
If so, this is the schedule of our 2020 Challenge where you are invited to:
DAY 1 ———–
Kite Spot: Kalpitiya Lagoon
Group coaching Level IKO 3-4. (independent – advanced). We will practice some advanced tricks and we will address all personal difficulties that come with it: Navigation toe-side, transitions, jumps, jumps with transition, frontrolls, backrolls …
Kalpitiya lagoon kite spot offers flat and shallow water which is perfect to start practising new tricks.
DAY 2 ———–
Kite Spot: Dream Spot – Ippantivu Island
Today it’s time to practice and refine all the tricks you’ve tried, learned or never dared in one of our best kite spots in Sri Lanka: Dream Spot.
Dream Spot is located about 30 min from Kalpitiya by boat and has very stable side shore wind conditions. From there we will start a downwind that will last about an hour and a half through the Puttalam lagoon until we reach the island of Ippantivu, an island surrounded by super flat water! We will keep riding around Ippantivu island until sunset.
DAY 3 ———–
Kite Spot: Kappaladi Lagoon
Kappaladi town is located approximately 40 min South of Kalpitiya and it is a very well known kite spot in Sri Lanka. The Kappaladi lagoon is also a perfect place to continue practicing and keep improving your new and old tricks.We will go by jeep to Kappaladi lagoon where we will continue with the group coaching.
DAY 4 ———–
Kite Spot: Vella Island
Kite trip to Vella Island, one of the most perfect and amazing kite spots in the world. Vella is undoubtedly the best kite spot of Sri Lanka. It is here where some of the world champions come to train.
From Kalpitiya we will travel approximately one hour by boat to Vella and we’ll be staying overnight on this small local Island. It is a very authentic experience when doing a kite trip in Sri Lanka, which I know you will enjoy.
DAY 5 ———–
Kite Spot: Vella Island
From sunrise to sunset we will be riding, jumping, flying and progressing our kite skills all around this perfect spot called Vella Island.
DAY 6 ———–
Kite Spot: Donkey Point
Our last day we will go by jeep to Donkey Point. Donkey Point is a cape located approximately 20 min from Kalpitiya and here we will kite in the ocean.
If there are some tricks you have learnt over the last days and want to improve on, you can stay training on Kalpitiya Lagoon with our instructors, on our return to Kalpitiya.
